Yes, drop call works fine. I don't know if you're interested in making other apps, but a weather app for WMC would be really nice. Even if you could just get the weather gadget built into Win7 to display on the lower right corner of the WMC main menu I would definitely buy that.

One nice thing would be if the W7CallerID server could be installed as a service. I noticed that when my WHS2011 machine restarted today the W7CallerID server did not start running until I logged in remotely.

I’ve redesigned Bluetooth module using low level library and got success with the main cell brands IPhone, Android and Blackberry. New version will be available pretty soon. Check our website for updates: http://w7callerid.com/news.aspx

Stan, any thoughts on having an option to install the W7CallerIdServer as a service? Any time the server restarts (outage, updates, etc.) I have to login to get it restarted. It would be nice if it was a service that automatically started on reboot.

Stan,

Is there anyway you could disable the annoying chime when the caller ID notification box pops up or is that built into WMC?

I'll update user guide today. You need to pair your phones then run scan from the settings. In the Bluetooth section you should see you phones:

Click save button and restart application

Apple's Mac Caller ID notification support.
Now with VB Script support it is really easy to send Caller ID notificatios to different platforms including Apple's Mac.

Looking to add this, but confused about something:

The computer close to a phone line, and which has the fax/modem is in a different room than the Family Room computer using WMC. I do not have this set up as a server.

The host computer - would I leave WMC running, make it a Server, or is there another flavor of your software that would handle this?

Good stuff as always, Stan.

I am really looking forward to the ability to install the W7CallerID server as a service. Everytime there's a Windows Update I don't have caller ID or blocking functionality until I login. Usually how I know is when nothing pops up when the phone rings or we get a call I know I've blocked.

Thanks!

Working right now on this feature, the problem is that it requires lot of changes. I hope to finish by the end of the month(beta will be early if you want to test)

This will setup your server to automatically launch W7CallerID server on startup. These instructions were ripped off from this article about how to do the same with SkyDrive: http://www.wegotserved.com/2012/05/0...server-2011/3/

1. From your servers desktop, Click on the Start Orb and type task and enter. This will launch the Task Scheduler MMC. Under the Action Pane, select the Create Task' wizard.

2. On the General tab, name the task W7CallerID and give it a meaningful description. Next, select the Run whether user is logged on or not radio button, un-check all of the check boxes, and change the Configure for box to Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2.

3. From the Triggers tab, select the new button to define a new trigger. Select At Startup' to begin the task and check the Enable' check box and click ok. All other check boxes can be blank.

4. From the Actions tab, select the new button to define what action this task will preform. Select the Start a program' action. Now you can browse to where the W7CallerID server executable file resides, select it and click OK.

5. On the Conditions tab, you can un-check all of the boxes.

6. On the Settings tab, Check the Allow task to be run on demand' and If the running task does not end when requested, force it to stop' check boxes. Also, select the Do not start a new instance' option, this prevent the server from starting a second instance of this program. Click OK to complete the task.

7. Enter your user password and click ok.

8. This will return you to the Task Scheduler, right-click on the W7CallerID' task and select run. This will start your W7CallerID server application for the first time. In the future, it will start automatically when your server is booted.

I was messing around with this, this morning. I paired up my blackberry 8530 with my HTPC. I was able to get callerid.

The problem is that when my blackberry is paired, all audio is trying to go through my HTPC rather than the blackberry. I can't see where I would change that on the blackberry.

There is the workaround for this:
During a call, press the Speakerphone key on the keyboard and adjust the volume to the low level. BB will remember this volume for Speaker and next time you will need just to press the button

I think that how-to makes it very low priority, yes. I hope that helps. Feel free to give it a try, post it on your site, etc.

yeah.. that isn't much of a workaround, having to use the Blackberry on Speakerphone only. I guess I'll have to wait until I get a different phone. It's kind of useless to pair the blackberry to my PC. Then I can't use it as a real phone.

Seems like a good app for other phones though.

Thanks StardogChampion! I do not have WHS2011 but I've tested it at Windows 7 and it works as well.
