I posted this last December. With the Holidays and all, I'm just now getting back into it. I have the remote controlling the HTPC (sort of) using the instructions found on assassin's awesome paid guide (Best $20 spent on my HTPC!!)..

I did a (quick) search but could not find information on setting up the Harmony to emulate the >>, <<, >|, |< keys in Media Player Classic ~ Home Cinema. It seams that the > and || keys as well as stop work nativelly but the other "critical" remote keys don't.

Any suggestions, links or comments would be quite helpfull.

I am thinking of going into MPC-HC and changing the default "keys" for controlling the player to keys that the Media Center SE in the Harmony can recognize... Has anyone done this before?

Without doing much other than a reboot, I now have >| and <| working but still no << or >>. Any suggestions?

I do like talking to myself.. HaHa!!

I setup my buttons , << and >>, to the jump forward and jump backwards in MPC. There are three different jumps: small, medium, and large. I use the large, it's about a 20 second jump.

Thanks..

How'd you do this? I know about changing the key mapping in MPC-HC, but it says VK (or Virtual Key) which doesn't make much sense. I'm thinking that the key mapping needs to be changed to one that doesn't use CTRL, ALT or SHFT because the 900 doesn't support macros, but only one command with each button push on the remote.. so maybe I map them to F and R on a keyboard and program the hard keys in the Harmony for >> and << to correspond to F and R on a keyboard, respectivelly?

Edit: The 900 can't be mapped to letters but can be mapped to ALT-#'s, so I'm trying that..

In MPC go to Options>Keys. Scroll down until you find Jump Forward, Jump Backward, etc. Scroll to the right and you should see a column call App Command. In the corresponding Jump Forward or Backward row click the blank space in the App Command column. Change the selection to Media_Fast_Forward for the Jump Forward and Media_Rewind for the Jump Backward. I've got mine setup for the Jump Forward (large) and Jump Backward (large).

I figure that I am going to have to reset the Harmony 900 back to its default settings for this to work too? My solution didn't change anything but the way my RF keyboard controls MPC-HC.
