+1 for the Harmony One. I've had a lot of quality universal remotes over the years and the Harmony One is by far the best I've ever owned. I used to have a Harmony 880, which uses the same software and activity protocol as the One. I like the One better because it's not as cluttered and the buttons are easier to use.
I've also owned Home Theater master remotes, URC remotes, Marantz remotes, and the list goes on. The Harmony One offers the most in flexibility, ease of use, and memory for command storage.
Get an HP IR receiver for use with any Harmony. You can pick one up on ebay for anywhere from $5 to about $15. It's got jacks on the rear for connecting IR repeaters to control other components located out of sight.
