I've got a GTX 460 768mb card that I've had nothing but problems with. 70% of the time I switch my TV/receiver on (Samsung B540 plasma, Denon 1910) it just gives me a black screen and needs to be rebooted to get a picture.
The other issue I'm having is I seem to be stuck at 280.26 drivers. Anything newer and I get artifacts anytime 3d is active and the the system locks up. Roll back to 280.26 and all is fine.
I've been a longtime Ati/AMD user and I don't have much experience with the nvidia cards. Does anyone have any idea?
Still, before powering up the PC, make sure your receiver and TV are on and have gone through their power-up cycles. That should always prevent the black screen. You can also pick up a HDMI Detective Plus - once configured you can turn on the PC first and never experience the black screen.
I've had similar issues with nVidia not remembering the HDMI output settings. I have one output connected to my Sammy TV and another to my Denon 1910 and using a cloned output. Sometimes it'll change settings to an extended desktop with the TV recognised as the 'extended display'. That's why it appears as a Black SOD but in reality it's just nVidia doing its own thing. Still trying to solve the issue.
