I found this today. Fantastic reference for HTPC users...

Pardon if this has been mentioned here but I don't remember seeing it.

A lot of the posts there are dated from 2008.

I wonder how much has changed since and also if SBS 3d was taken into account and if SBS would take up less power.

Edit: Did not read through the pages there, seems to be newer posts as well, but still I wonder if SBS was taken into account.

Your image is broken, at least in Chrome. Or is it just me?

Thanks for sharing that.

102W peak for my GTS-450s. I can live with that, knowing that in general my HTPC never pushes them that far, even with MadVR.

lol. I have been using IEI recently after a few years away from it.

I believe it to be much improved and as good as firefox and chrome these days.

The hate on IEI is past precedent only, as it works pretty well and is certainly competitive with other browsers in it's most recent form.

Most popular

Most used

Both studies have there variables of error factor . No study is perfect .

I personally like Fire Fox. Although slow loading and they seem to be version crazy. Any thing Google is way to invasive for my taste . IEI .... well , I have no trouble working up plenty of hate . Wait , wait ..... yup , there is the hate . See told ya.

BTW .... Nice find on the chart Assassin ... booked it myself . Thanks

I actually use all three daily.

Each has a purpose. Google Chrome is the only one that ever crashes on me if I load too many tabs.

It used to be my favorite but recently it's become dead last in my preference.

Firefox is my choice generally- but IE is much improved these days.

Looks like FF barely squeaked out in that test.

suppose they all have there "suck" factor .

Kinda like mother boards ... right ? none are 100% perfect a 100% of the time .

My PowerColor HD5450 didn't add 35W to my system -- maybe 20W. The system still ran comfortably around 70W as a whole under full stress -- using a 120W DC-DC/84W AC brick PSU. It's amazing how low power you can go these days and have a complete HTPC, even with a discrete GPU.

My core i5 SB with a gts450 idles around 55W. Not bad for a pretty powerful system.
