?1.doe's this wireless card require an antenna? or should the PC be tested w/out antenna first
before buying an antenna?
can this TV tuners antenna be used as a wireless antenna?
The link is for an external Hauppage usb tv tuner which is used to watch OTA tv channels. In order to pick up as many stations as possible, it would be best to connect the Hauppage to an outdoor antenna such as one made by Channel Master or Antennas Direct. You could test the tuner in your htpc by using the included indoor antenna, although you may not pick up any stations, depending on where you are located.
This Hauppage cannot be used to anything related to networking or the Internet.
also is this a decent wireless antenna?http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-pla-_-NA-_-NA
This antenna is for use with a wireless network device. I would only get the antenna if you are having signal problems when connecting the htpc to your wireless network. In order to use this antenna, your external or internal wireless device must allow you to connect an external antenna.
and this for a TV tunerhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116036
This is also a tv tuner and provides some features in addition to the features of the Hauppage you linked in your first question.?2.I'm assumming this tuner that costs $10. more includes the software for it to work correctly?
unlike the one that cost $10. less that requires third party software for it to work correctly?
I would not bother using the included tuner software. Just use Windows Media Centre to handle watching, recording, and playback of recorded tv.?3.will a 3' piece of coax wire make a good FM antenna?
Maybe, maybe not. You may be better off using a plain di-pole antenna.?4.doe's the WMC remote have a button to record FM to HDD?
I'm not sure but you would probably get better sound quality when recording from some high-quality Internet radio stations.
