Hi,

So with the new version of XBMC Eden released, can anyone comment on PQ? More specifically, has anyone done a comparison vs MadVR.

I'm changing around my media server (and will be installing Eden RC2 with HD bitstream support), and wanted to know whether there is still a need to install MPC-HC with MadVR? Has the XBMC team managed to get the quality close to MadVR standards.
The majority of my content is 720p and 1080p.

Thanks in advance.

For me, I removed MPC-HC, LAV and MadVR the third day after installing EDEN RC2 with the HD audio bitstream patch...

I guess that should say enough...

Has XBMC solved the DXVA2 bug for Intel GPU? I checked last week using Eden, the bug is still there.
Are you using DSPlayer with LAV Filter?

On a good quality 1080/720 rip, I truly can't tell a bit of difference on my GT430 (DXVA2 enabled and syc'd to display) fed to either my 46" Toshiba LCD or 110" Epson 8350 projector. Both are very smooth and support HD audio.

The only difference I have found is on a few poorly encoded rips. These are usually some of my very first attempts that I haven't gone back to re-encode properly. LAV/MadVR have an ability to smooth out some minor encoding issues. This might be related to a superior splitter in LAV rather than any decode/render differences.

These are very small micro stutters that my wife and teenage son can't even see.

I just install MPC-hc as an alternative player in XBMC when I want to get my geek on - best of all worlds.

Why do you want or need dxva? Just turn it off.

Do you find the patch working better than the AE release with HD Audio?

I tried the latter, and none of my lossless Blu-ray backups made with MakeMKV could bitstream properly :|

I was wondering about their SD upscaling quality. Could someone compare both? I would like to compare myself bu my CPU and onboard GPU can't handle MadVR+LAVA well, so any input is welcome.
