Just curious, since a bunch of us have cablecard tuners now, what is everyone paying to rent cablecards?

I'm in the Atlanta area and have Comcast. I have one HD (non-DVR) cable box and 2 cablecards I rent from Comcast. My equipment charges are as follows:

$9.95 - Digital Service - Additional Outlet
$9.95 - Digital Service
$9.95 - HD Technology Fee - Whole House Fee Authorizes All HD Capable Outlets IN The Home.

Then I get 2 Customer Owned Equipment adjustments of -$2.50 each.

I have FiOS and each cable card is $3.99. No outlet fees or other extraneous fees.
I'm currently down to three cable cards from a high of eight. And once the TiVo IP box comes out later this yearI will be able to drop down to two cable cards for my two Premiere Elites.

Same here. I just have 1 card. I got rid of 1 Verizon DVR and hoping to get rid of the second one later this year once I'm comfortable with the HTPC. I also need to get the xbox 360 extender working.

Two of my switches came today so I'll spend the weekend working on the hardwire infrastructure.

$2/CableCARD (and free TA) on TWC in Charlotte, NC. It actually went to be $2.50 each and they went DOWN a few months ago (first time I've ever had an MSO lower prices on me)

Comcast Jacksonville, FL will give you the cable card for free if you don't have their DVR. If you have their DVR the card is $8.50/mo. One of the AVS members explained when I asked this same question, that the regulators require the CC to allow a way for you to get cable using your own equipment at no additional charge; however, if you have their equipment they can charge for each additional CC owned device.

I'm on FIOS and the previously mentioned rates apply to me as well. I still have two S-cards in an S3 Tivo that are grandfathered in at the original $2.99 monthly rate, which is the only reason I still keep the Tivo active.

Since I do not have any Charter supplied Set Top Boxes, they have me on a "special" (meaning it isn't advertised as a package) Digital Home package that provides me with my cablecard instead of the STB at a slightly lower cost.

Comcast. I have 2 HD-DVR's, 4 DTA's, and 1 Cable Card. The Cable Card is provided for free. If I were to get a second one it would be $1.99 a month.

Completely Noob questions here.... But I just finished my HTPC build with a total of 5.5tb of hard drive space. I currently have DTV with just about every channel possible except skinemaxxx and showtime....

What Channels will I get if I decide to give Cox Cable (Phoenix) a try? I am not really looking to switch but I just may if the price is right. Don't mind losing some channels if I can drop my bill significantly.

+1 for Greenville, SC ( except they set me up w/ 2 TAs and I only need one for up to 6 channels. Put spare in the closet for an emergency)

Atlanta.

I just called Comcast to order a cable card for a ceton. He said the card would cost $9.95 a month since I already had a DVR ($7 a month). However if I returned the DVR, the card would be free. I would therefore save $17 a month!!! This is absolutely unbelievable - I was under the impression that the card would be free.
