I had the same problem but instead of applying the registry fix, I disabled Internet time synchronization and installed an NTP client. I did this about 4 months back and have never had a problem with teh clock since.
I am not sure if this is related but I noticed today my system clocks are all off my about 5 minutes or so. I have them sync to time.windows.com. I checked the time on the NIST website and it was ahead. I changed all of my settings to now sync with nist1-ny.ustiming.org (closest to me) and it's fixed the time.
The time in the guide is the time of the system clock.
So, it's a drift issue, not a bad time at time.windows.com issue. It's strange every PC in my house drifts the same...
