I need some suggestions on a motherboard for my media server running Server 2008 and FlexRaid. I am using a Norco 4224 case so I can max out at 24 hard drives. The number of SATA ports doesn't mean much as I am using SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 PCI Express x4 SAS Raid Controller cards. Obviously, I need to have enough PCI Express Slots to hold three raid controller cards as add new drives. Having another one or two PCI express slots for good measure would be nice also. I am looking to run an Intel i-series processor.

Any suggestions?

ASRock Z77 Extreme4-M: dual PCI Express 3.0 x8 + 8 SATA ports

ASRock Z77 Extreme4: dual PCI Express 3.0 x8 + 8 SATA ports

ASUS P8Z77-V LK: dual PCI Express 3.0 x8 + 6 SATA ports

If Intel Gb LAN matters for you,

ASUS P8Z77-V (PRO): dual PCI Express 3.0 x8 + 8 SATA ports

Intel DB65AL: PCI Express 3.0 x16 + PCI Express 2.0 x4 + 6 SATA ports (very cheap)

(PCI Express 3.0 requires IVB.)
