I have been using XBMC on my HTPC for years and recently got a cablecard so I am using WMC with it. I would prefer to have one software that would do it all instead of switching back and forth. Can anyone using a cablecard tell me what setup they used?

Currently there is none. WMC+Mediabrowser is your best bet if you want a single solution.

Yup.

But isn't there an XBMC plug-in for WMC?

I tried that solution and frankly I think mb sucks mainly because of WMC. It is really leggy and in mkv videos there's no ff or rewind. Since there is nothing else I might as well stick with Xbmc and WMC.

Mine isn't laggy at all with WMC+MB. The ff/rew needs improvement as does subtitle control in WMC.

WMC + My Movies works best for us.
2nd choice would be WMC + Mediabrowser.

All of the above are polished in XBMC.

Can't wait until it has a real DVR.

When it supports CableCARD I'll consider switching.

good luck on that. cablecard restrictions are getting tighter. FiOS was one of the few out there you could use, but not anymore.

Yes if you type XBMC Integration Tool in Google you come up with this... http://xbmcwmc.teknowebworks.com/

Media Browser is likely less problematic than XBMC. I recently added my TV and Movie folders and..... Two TV series are missing.....On the server yes, show up in XBMC, nope. Maybe it will sort itself out, but still... When people call XBMC polished, I just have a smirk on my face.

You can still use FiOS perfectly fine. You just can't switch the device the cable card is in without reactivating it. As long as it is paired with the device, it works great.
