Changelog
Note

This changelog only applies to current stable build. For complete logs check links below.

1.6.3 - 14 August 2012

•New:
•New webpage (http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net)
•Source code moved to GitHub (https://github.com/mpc-hc)

•MpegSplitter: support for DVD-Audio LPCM and MLP in .aob files
•Use FFmpeg for AC3 and DTS decoding
•If the icon library is modified in a way that can break the icons associated to the extensions handled by MPC-HC, MPC-HC will automatically try to fix the registry so that each extension is associated to the correct icon

•The Icon Library was rewritten leading to smaller size
•The Output Options page was redesigned for better usability
•Ticket #625, The translation dll’s size was decreased by 2/3 (uncompressed)
•Ticket #2227, Hide the seek bar in capture mode
•Ticket #2276, Use the new user interface on Vista and later for the Save dialogs
•Ticket #2342, MPC-HC will now use the Windows theme font for the Statusbar, OSD messages and a few other places on Windows Vista and newer

•The hand cursor wasn’t shown in the web links in Keys and WebServer options page
•Toolbar code cleanup and background fix for Windows XP
•The last textbox used in the Goto dialog was not remembered since r3964 and r3965
•Always show an error message instead of crashing when the argument of a command line switch is missing
•OggSplitter: Fix crash with some files
•Logitech Keyboard support updated and made optional (Options -> Tweaks)

The version I have installed from last May is working well for me. I'll let a few other people use it and report back..

Hi Sammy2
Thanks for the update info.
One question. I open the new MPC version and it asks me if I want to check periodically for update. I say yes but the next time I open the player it asks the same. It's some way to disable this?
Thanks again.

View -> Options -> Miscellaneous -> disable update check.

note: the post above is my opinion. as such, when reading any recommendations from me, please do you research and seek out other recommendations and make up your own mind on your next course of action. i mean, most reasonable adults should know that, but it seems this should be stated anyways.

Thanks aliaskary77 for your answer.
It's not that. Already tried it. It isn't that the player is telling me that is a new version and asks me if I want to update.
It's that every time I open this version of the MPC-HC there's a pop up message that asks me:
"Do you want to check periodically for MPC-HC updates? This feature can be disabled later from the Miscellaneous options page."
Clicking the "YES" or "NO" button makes no difference.

only other time i have seen something similar is due to write restrictions. launch mpc as admin, select no. close and open as normal and see if it still asks you. did you use default path for install?

aliaskary77.
I will try this tonite when back home.
I remember now that I was having problems with the mpc-hc.ini file that was changing to default all my settings each time I opened the player, so I changed it´s file attributes to read-only. Thanks. Will check and tell.

sometimes non-default install locations can do that. one of the folders progam files, program files (x86) or program data files is sometimes restricted if not installed with proper access.

i had this issue with bsplayer, and maybe xbmc, cant remember.
