Currently I have an I7 with 16GB of memory. For video I have an ati 5700 HD series but i don't know if this video card supports 3D.

My 3d setup is as follows.

HD33 Projector
Panasonic BLu-Ray 3D player.
Onkyo 805-TX reciver. (non 1.4 compliant)

Also with a new video card will it work with my receiver?

Thanks for you help.

I suppose you have hdmi going directly to the HD33 as the Onkyo 805 does not support 3D. Your video card will support 3D as long as you have catalyst 10.10 or newer installed.

OK Thanks for your reply. I am reading some articles that 3D BLuRay is not supported in the 5000 series with the new catalyst 10.10 software. Since these are full Blu-Ray Backup rips in iso format wouldn't this not work?

Thanks.

According to ATI specs, your 5700HD is only HDMI 1.3. So it won't have FullHD 3D support. You need a video card with HDMI 1.4 support.

What generation I7 do you have? If is a SandyBridge or IvyBridge it's gpu will do the job. What are you using as the player? Total Media Theater 5 and PowerDVD 11 and 12 are 3D capable players. I preffer PowerDVD11 for 3D playback over TMT5.
Your reciever may or may not work have read of some able to get some of the Onkyo HDMI 1.3 to pass 3D BD, do not recall the trick to try though.

Support 3D on a PC monitor has nothing to do with support FullHD 3D on a 3D TV. The later requires HDMI 1.4 support on the video card.

Which SandyBridge and IvyBridge do if poster has a SandyBridge or IvyBridge I7 . I guess if the motherboard isn't up to snuff it may cause issue. Plenty have done 3D HDMI 1.4a without a seperate video card and using only Sandy or Ivy internal gpu's. I am assuming your reply was in regard to my question on type of I7.
