Although I don't use Media Browser anymore, I think the Neo theme is stunning. What I don't like though is every time you exit media browser to go to live or recorded TV, the change in interface is a bit jarring. The default media browser UI is fits into WMC better, but something about it always seemed a little off to me. My Movies fits perfectly IMO, but My Movies doesn't seem very popular on this forum.

After purchasing several of the paid themes I ended up sticking with the free "Chocolate" theme. Each paid theme I tried always had several things that I liked and always one thing I couldn't live with. There was one other theme that I really liked but I had a different problem with it. My backdrop artwork would load really slow so as you cycled through media the main mediabrowser backdrop would show up for about a half a second before the next picture would load. I found this very annoying and completely unacceptable. I thought about moving all my artwork to the SSD but it seemed like a whole lot of effort just to use a theme.

Another vote for Chocolate. I just prefer an interface that doesn't get in the way. It's simple, elegant, and puts the focus on the cover art.

I also no longer use WMC, but I always liked the subdued theme in Media Browser. Highly customizable if you care to put the time into it. It's been a while though, no idea if it's even developed or supported any more.

+1

I was just thinking the same thing when I saw your post

Chocolate was the first theme and only I have ever used . I really think it is due to the fact that I used Assassins guides solely to set up my htpc and was just to lazy to change it and quite frankly , I think the theme just works for me

I have a new htpc that is giving he a " time" getting my Ceton set up but as soon as that gets hashed out I believe I am going to be a bit more aggressive with experimenting with different looks .

I loved 'chocolate' as well, and used it for a long time, but then development on this theme started to stall. Not sure if it's been updated yet, but I'd already bought and switched to Throg's Vanilla theme. I wanted the localized movie ratings function, which Chocolate didn't offer. Vanilla's a great theme. Easy on the eye, but quick and stable.

Subdued was updated a few months back when the new version of Media Browser was released so it is still being developed.

It is my choice as well - very simple. I was able to match the Subdued background, external player splash screen, and Arcsoft plugin backgrounds to the Media Center Studio theme I use - I get the same overall interface everwhere.

Massive +1 for Neo.

Use Neo with the Trinity MC theme and everything just blends together nicely:

http://community.mediabrowser.tv/permalinks/9215/neo-trinity-a-chef-keef-media-center-theme

Admittedly, setting up Trinity seems a little daunting, but follow the instructions and it takes like 15mins.

I actually think all of the MB themes look cool though, and totally appreciate all the time and effort that the devs put into creating  and updating them.

I've used default, chocolate, and subdued

Subdued standard settings appeal to me the most (I don't like to spend hours tweaking themes)

Default used to be horrifying and I much preferred Chocolate, with Subdued being most preferred.

I fiddled with some MB registry settings, and I ended up needing to do a complete wipe/restore of MB. This was around the same time as the Atlas update (which I was holding off on since MCM was working great), so I went ahead with the most current release and was actually very impressed with the default skin.

I actually prefer default now and changed my other HTPC to match

i really like that trinity theme. I might give that a try tonight. Is there a central online repository of MCS themes? Hack7MC has a few, and a user on TGB posted a couple he made a few years back, but I have trouble finding them and I'm pretty bad at trying to create theme.

wow, your Neo rock arjayd13, looks good.

I see you're using James' EHS Icons. I used to use those with Pearl, but you have them fitting in well with Neo.

good job!

Chocolate Theme. Custom made icons. Backdrops from various wallpaper sites, I think.

Always a work in progress. I need to make a few new icons and get Game Browser working correctly. For some reason the CoverArt plugin isn't working.

Guess I am the only one who likes Diamond. Oh well. Though I don't customize as much as some of the others.

I like Diamond.. I tried and liked a lot of the themes actually. As the free trial ran out on them I moved on because I can be a cheap SOB. eek.gif

So I'm using Diamond. It is free and simple, looks decent and gives me the information I need. I don't spend too much time looking at it because I'm usually passing through on my way to watching an actual movie or TV episode.
