I just assembled a DQ77KB with the Crucial m4 msata 128gb ssd as a desktop for my parents. WIn7 x64 installed fine, I haven't yet done any updates. Installed all of the Intel Drivers from the site (latest versions) and Intel Desktop Utilities (IDU). IDU is reporting an alert for the Crucial m4 ssd -- 100 degress, outside of operating range. I assume Fahrenheit as it's warm to the touch but not scalding hot. 100C would be 212F.

Crucial's specs list the operating temperature as 0C to 70C.

This sounds like a case of mistaken scale in IDU, as 100F is 37C, average value of operating range.

Case: Morex 557
MB: Intel DQ77KB
CPU: Core i3-3220T (I wanted low power consumption)
Mem: Samsung DDR-1333 2x2GB
SSD: Crucial m4 msata 128Gb
PSU: 150W,19V from Mini-Box.com

Has anyone else experienced the temperature alert with the Crucial m4 msata ssd?

Next time I boot the machine, I'll try switching the temperature scale, see if IDU is just confused.

Thanks.

That sounds like a nice build.

I just built a couple of these along the same line:

Case: IWill S197-H80
MB: Intel DH61AG
CPU: Intel i3-2120T
Mem: Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) (caught a great sale $29!)
SSD: Crucial M4 mSATA 64GB (not purchased yet)
PSU: on-board + Anker AC adapter 19V 4.74A 90W 7.4*5.0

When I get the SSDs I'll report back if I see the same issue.

Hot to the touch where you just pull back your finger (for me) is about 60deg C. If it just feels warn, then it should be closer to 45deg C.

hi TrollSlayer, i'm interested in Morex 557 and I have those questions for you:

1 Which CPU heatsink you've installed?
2 Do the HDD bracket reduces the hight of heatsink on top?
3 Can you post some pics of your build please?

Thank you!
Best regards
