My major area of concern is in MPC and setting up filters etc for quality playback. I've already troubleshot to the point that my system is not fast enough for madvr so instead use lav video decoder with evr-cp renderer.
I can playback files, but every once in a while the screen tears or is a touch jittery. In addition, I am getting a lot of 'snow' in my playback of mkv files.
I can only get my monitor to set at 60hz because of an nvidia resize issue; dropping frames and jitters can be caused by this? I have tried multiple ideas from doom9, here, and other forums but still feel as though the playback picture quality is inferior. I am having a lot of snow (artifacts?) in my playback of mkv files and a lot of blotchiness in the background video images in mp4 files.
I was using the cccp setup but one night I had a trouble file and messed up my settings pretty badly so decided to cut back to standard mpc-hc and installed the lavf video decoder. After that I installed and tried madvr as the renderer but my system couldn't handle it.
In addition, my nvidia geforce 9200 scaling option has no effect on my computer whatsoever (when I spoke with them they had me report it as a bug). Because of the scaling option not working properly I have to resize my desktop with Nvidia because the edges of the desktop are off the display screen. Due to that, my screen refresh rate can only be set to 60hz. I'm pretty sure this makes a difference in the jitters and tearing of my (fullscreen) video playback.
I know something is not right, but I can't trouble shoot it properly. I don't know enough about what I'm doing, but am eager to learn!
