The images are outstanding. No more tearing. No more anything bad. Maybe there was just an issue with my Dell XPS i7 Geforce 525M laptop.
I ran VLC and JRiver anf thay both look awesome.
I might pay the $50 for JRiver if it plays BlueRay.
If I place a BlueRay movie (Prometheus for instance) into a SATA BlueRay drive will JRiver play it ?
Or will I need PowerDVD to play a BlueRay disk ?
My next step after getting a BlueRay player is to install my new InfiniTV 4. I can't belive I will be able to do so much now on a PC.
Thanks everyone.

I never thought that.

You are plunking down a chunk of change for a Blu-ray player. Why not rip them to mkv on a HDD and then have your own personal on demand library?

My PC currently does not have a blue ray drive so since I have one laying around the house I will install it in the PC.
I am not buying a blueray player.

I will do copies and have my own library.

Does jriver play movies I insert into the PC blue Ray drive ?

They need to be decrypted using anydvd HD, and menus are not supported.

Which is pretty much the same level of bluray playback you will get in most other players like VLC and MPC-HC.

If you want something that will play a bluray without requiring decryption software like anydvd then look at Total Media Theater (TMT) and PowerDVD, probably WinDVD too. However all of those environments are fairly monolithic and relatively fragile in that they don't play so well with other HTPC type software and if something goes wrong you are at the mercy of the software vendor. They may still be plenty good enough for you, it all depends on just how much of the potential you want to tweak out of your HTPC.

If you want to start looking at tweaking all the knobs available to you on an HTPC then check out the advanced MPC-HC setup guide:
