If you organize your collection with sickbeard it will tell you what you're missing.

Yes it's capable but if they're not named correctly it will fail.

I check epguides.com. They have complete listings of just about any show that's ever been aired along with any specials that are associated with each series. It's not an automated system, but it's an invaluable reference. I gave up archiving TV shows a long time ago since I just don't have the time to go back and watch an entire series twice. I barely have enough time to watch the shows I currently record.

Is there a way to run a list of your media without media master ?

Simple, but effective for Windows - put this line in a .bat file and place the .bat file in the root of your media files:

DIR /B /O:N /S > ListMovies.txt

In theory yes. But that POS crashes and usually my Firefox browser opens and says no media. It's buggy and doesn't work well.

I reinstalled windows to a new SSD array and tried it fresh again and same thing .

I'm certain it's the program. It doesn't like big libraries over LAN on mapped network drives.

That command does a directory listing of the folders and files in the current directory and sub directories (/S), sorts them by name (/O:N) and then displays the result in bare format (/B) meaning no header information or summary. Instead of displaying it to the screen, you are sending the results to a text file ( > ListMovies.txt )

You can run the command from a command prompt or place it in a bat file as suggested.

If I may,

it's a simple directory listing of files contained in the current directory and sub-directories. The resulting file list is outputted to a text file called "listmovies.txt"

The command is DIR the others are switches telling the DIR command how to list the results.

/B = Uses bare format (no heading information or summary)
/O:N = List by files in sorted order (N= By Name)
/S= Displays files in specified directory and all subdirectories.

You can see this all DIR switches by opening up a CMD prompt and type DIR /? and press enter.

So after you run the batch file containing this command line, it will create a text file with the results. You can use notepad to open the text file and see all your files listed there. This only tells you whats there in the specified order. It will not tell you what is missing but you can deduce that on your own by just looking at what is there. Also you can run the command manually (without having to put it in a batch file) but you would have to type in a cmd prompt every time you wish to run it. By creating a batch file, you only need to double click it to run it anytime you wish.

Too late, vladd beat me to it.

Strange. It works for me very well over the network for a 500GB TV collection (57 shows in 425 series).

I've got a fairly sizable collection myself using mapped network shares to manage with Media Center Master (obviously, I'm the developer) and can't say I'm sharing the same performance issues you are. I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot that over at the MCM Community Forums (and I would start with recommending you take a look at the recommended performance tweaks I wrote up at our wiki).

Let me know if I can help. smile.gif

I really like the program. I'm a registered paid user.

I'll take you up on this offer. It's much appreciated.

Right now running the missing episodes report I get my Firefox browser opened saying no media. But it runs perfectly for fetching. I just reinstalled both my OS and mediacentermaster. No clue why missing episodes don't work.

I've been using TVRename for several years now (mentioned above). It works fantastic and I have it automatically renaming and copying my files as they download (it's all automated from start to finish unless something goes wrong).

I'm pretty satisfied with media center master when it's working properly. It's certainly worth the price. It's most powerful tool of its kind.

I use many if the premium features like renaming. I love how it names properly and will include the year and resolution in the name.

I did my whole collection like that.

I just wish the missing episodes was working.

I've used it before and it was great. Once it stopped working that's the only thing that cause me to ask and start this thread.

I plan to reinstall tonight and test again. If it don't work I guess I'll trouble shoot it.

For whatever reason, Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) is showing up as Adult in the Horror/Thriller genre. Looks like the MPAA rating was nixed on it. Refetched and it's no longer showing as adult. wink.gif
