I need some help on My Home Theater PC (HTPC). I have several two problems that I just Cannot sort out. One, I almost certain will require a new Video card.
I purchased a Blu-Ray copy of “Gone With The Wind” and the DVD stopped playing and suggested that I run the BD Advisory program
The BD advisory program show all green on Basis tab but on the Advanced Tab had the following “NO”
Hardware Dual Video Decoding capability for H-264 – NO
Hardware Dual Video Decoding capability for MPEG-2 - NO
Hardware Dual Video Decoding capability for VC-1 - NO
The GPU is a ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphic card.
The latest Radeon drivers are being used -
Catalyst Software Suite
94.7 MB 13.1 1/17/2013
Operating System – Windows 8, 32 bit.
Software – Power DVD 12 (Purchased new, 1st use) could I have missed something in set-up
Problem Two, I have the HTPC GPU connected via a HDMI cable to Video 1 of a 42” Sony Bravia – When the program first start it says I have no audio attached. To hear the volume adequately in a 14X20 Room I have to turn the volume up to volume levels 80 or above on the screen. For normal TV viewing the Volume Levels is generally around 22-25.
