No, it WAS acting that way when I had it set up as a "Hybrid Repeater" service. It actually showed up as "Bridge", and I had to switch and connect to it separately if I was in the living room. Right now I am upstairs in the living room, (about 10 feet away from the AP) and my signal is less than 4 bars....I would think it should be full strength.
