Curious if anything out there would do what I would like:

My wife and I watch some TV shows shortly after they air, but we also will work our way through shows starting with older seasons first. I'm interested in finding a way to neatly organize that. Right now we use 7MC with MB. The recordedTV part of 7MC is fine for the stuff we record as we can just look at the series by air date, but it doesn't help on the TV we download or rip from DVDs.

Ideally I'd like some type of interface that listed the TV shows we have recordings on then display the next episode that we haven't watched, so we could easily see what is what.

So something that would ultimately look like:

CSI - Double Fault - Season 13 - Episode 12 (which would be something we recorded as it aired)
Pysch - Lights, Camera ... Homicidio - Season 2 - Episode 13 (we've ripped DVD's of all these episodes and are working our way through them)
Walking Dead - No new episodes (something we record, but we've watched everything we have)
etc.

Anything like that exist out there? In Media Browser it does have the check marks and stars that tell you if you have unwatched items, and of course it has the newly added items at the beginning, but neither are quite what I want.

I use MSM for getting all the meta data and artwork for my stuff, but how does that do what I'm asking?

As long as you have the "S1E01" or "S3E05" type in the name someplace... it will download all the metadata- album art and even rename them properly...

I use:

Best SHow Ever - S1E01 - best episode ever (2013)
style.....

It populates mediabrowser really well... if your set it up right. With banners, album art, metadata, epsidode descriptions-- resolutions... etc...

One folder for Series. Inside that a folder for each season. inside each season folder is the actual episodes.

If you don't have the S1E01 labels then you might need to update that before you can do the rest.

That's how I do it.

once you set it all up right... mediabrowser will easily show you which ones have been watched or not.

You can download or create a list of your media to see if your missing episodes...

If you have watched it just mark it watched....

My MB already does that, but I have to scroll by each folder to see if any are unwatched. I'm looking for something that is more like a list that will just show what is next available. The data is most certainly there, the display is not (that I have found).

how about "recent" or "new"

I think there is a mediabrowser plug in or setting for that....

The only thing I've seen in MB is that recently added screen, which just shows anything new that has shown up in the database. So I download a season of a show, it dominates the list. I'd like a list that shows one item max per show.

Ok, so after rebuilding my PC, decided to check out some of the MB add-ins. In case anyone else is looking for something like this, MediaBrowser has two:

Upcoming TV: http://www.mediabrowser.tv/store/details/39

MBPlus: http://www.mediabrowser.tv/store/details/38
