And itznfb, even though you can hand-edit the xml, you don't need to. you can use the editing interface in the web client, click save, and the changes go right into the xml file. here's a couple screens:

the lock icon on the left are items that are completely locked from internet metadata providers. additionally, you can lock specific fields of problem titles to prevent them from changing (see bottom of second screen):

Now it just so happens that your collection only has one path, so naturally you would expect images contained within to apply to the collection. and that does make sense.

Ah, gotcha.

For now, I decided it was a bit silly to try and force MB3 to look and act just like MB2, so I rolled back to MB2. I will take another stab at it when it is a final product. I do like the look and feel of it and like all the new things it can do. Good job so far!

close like a week? A month? A couple months? I'll beta test that sucker biggrin.gif and advertise it here if you wanted. (I don't frequent the MB forums, once in a great while)

The shortcut issue - would have to revisit it and decide how to use the shortcuts since they do not work like they did in MB2. That is huge since my movies are spread out over a couple of HDDs and about half my movies are non-categorized so they fall into the "Other Movies" collection.
The other issue is that every time I finished watching a BluRay in WinDVD 11 (not 11.5, but 11.0) and pressed stop, then either the Back key or the Green Button key on my Microsoft Remote Control, it would return me to a blank blue screen. The screen is the default WMC backdrop screen. At that point it would freeze WMC and I would have to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of it and fight Windows over closing WMC from the Task Manager. I did not bother to research much into that due to the shortcut issue. If I have to change how my shortcuts work then I am not going to change due to the huge number of shortcuts I have (around 100 or so). They all point to drive letters like in my previous post (and reposted, below).

In MB2, I use the following for my "Other Movies" collection and it does not work in MB3:

M:\DVD\Movies\Shortcut to What Dreams May Come (actual folder is located on the N:\ drive)
M:\DVD\Movies\Shortcut to 21 (actual folder is located on the O:\ drive)
M:\DVD\Movies\Shortcut to Arlington Road (actual folder is on the S:\ drive)

In MB2 the collection would populate with the movies, in MB3 it is an empty collection.

Har har smile.gif

We're working hard on it. It's not too far off. We're also working four simultaneous app store releases - apple, android, win phone, and roku, so it's a busy month. But the lucky members of our test team are already using it. It's just not yet ready to package up and ship to the masses.

Update:

Our iOS app is live on itunes!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/media-browser-for-ios/id705058087?ls=1&mt=8

Windows Phone has also been approved and will be up soon. Roku and Android are about to go through their approval processes as well.

Media Browser Theater is right around the corner, and a linux port of the server is under way.

Will there be a fee for the android app once it is in the store? (I still think that it is not as good as Plex for android yet)

Will MBT load from WMC, maybe by having it on the task bar in the number one position like I do now to get it to load with a Harmony remote?

That's up to our Android developer. I'm sure he'll announce that soon.

MBT is a standalone app. We still have a lot of people who are going to want to use WMC so I'm sure someone will come up with a launcher. Shouldn't be a problem.

Any chance of a build for Raspberry Pi? I'm running OpenElec right now, but I'd much rather have MB.

Can the server portion of MB3 be run as a service, yet? I know the answer was no when it started, but I can't find much about later builds. I'd love to use it on my WHS2011 box, but I'd strongly prefer it to be run as a service.
