Like the Xbox 360. I use this as remote clients for 7MC. They work great for TV but not so much for ripped content.

We support dvd folders rips for clients who are able to play them back directly without transcoding (generally htpc clients). When transcoding is needed, we try our best to do it, but it will fail on some titles, despite working well on others.

When you say "htpc clients" what do you mean by that, non WMC, like android etc.?

Perhaps the one-click installer lets you choose?

It's this sort of lack of control I dislike.

It is still in beta, it is also sited Here as well. No selection, I am installing now, remotely.

Here is our list of clients that are available and/or in development:

Android
Html5
iOS
Media Browser Theater
Media Portal
Roku
Windows Media Center
Windows Phone
Windows RT

Media Browser Theater & WMC can play folder rips directly. All others require encoding, which can be hit or miss. (Perhaps there's an external player for android that can play them directly, I'm not sure).

When is it a hit? What title has somebody reported success with by transcoding a folder rip?

You might want to come on our forums and ask that question. Tikuf knows everything there is to know about encoding and I'm sure he can tell you. I know that it's dependent on the capabilities of ffmpeg.

I guess I am not getting it, When you list "Windows Media Center", does that mean the clients of 7MC as well? I realize you did not list the 360, but the 360 is one of the best extenders for WMC. Which is why I ask.

Thanks again.

Yea we have a WMC plugin that runs media browser from within wmc, and it can run on an extender as well.

Extender support is limited to the limitations of the extender protocol.

Yes, but my question was, does it support the 360 as an extender, and it does.

MX player is for Android though. But thanks.

Right. I use it on my android phone rather than the built in player. I also use it on an android stick computer I have also.

BTW, my echo will play mkv's loaded from Media Browser but as is known file support is hit and miss.

Cool glad you didn't burned with the Echo. I can play pretty much all DVD based MKV's and most BD's under 20mb/sec on the 360.

MB has proved to be one of the must have's for 7MC.

For those of you who are using our windows phone app, please consider taking a moment to write a review in the windows store:

We're just a few reviews away from moving up to a featured spot in the store. Thanks for your time.

Love the new website. Also, thank you for the new option to store images in Plex/XBMC format!

Thanks, glad to hear it. We should be a pretty good option for managing Plex/Xbmc metadata at this point, especially with the new manual image download feature.

I have a fairly large HD only library and mb3 scans it in a very reasonable amount of time. The initial scan took about 25 minutes but that was partially to build metadata for many of my incomplete items..

In search of video bliss...

Guys,

We have a preview release of an XBMC client for MB3 in testing. Please consider trying it out and reporting feedback:

It's similar to our media portal client. Allows browsing of a Media Browser library within the xbmc interface.

Playback is choppy for me, I can't figure out why. I've got an ATI 5450. I setup LAV Filters as DXVA2 (native).

MPC-HC works perfectly, XBMC does too.
