I end up just using WMC player and Shark007 codecs for MB classic. It's much slicker. I use MBtheater now for MadVR.

You really should ask in our forum to get the most help. Ebr mans the MBC front, but if I had to guess, your mpc-hc web interface is either not enabled, or your mpc-hc language is not set to english. When you press stop we send a comment to the mpc-hc web interface to close the player, so if the interface isn't working, it won't close. The configure my player link enables it, but it's possible that things have changed with newer mpc versions.

Is the transcoding done on the server client or htpc ? IE: if you have a unraid server (too weak to do transcoding) that houses all of the media files but a HTPC has server app installed and you want to play through the Roku app.

You were right, web ui wasn't enabled. Doing 3 diff machines today, all experienced the same issue. must be a new mpc-hc that doesn't follow the same registry settings as mb3 config alters.

The server transcodes. That's why I have the server on my desktop instead of my file server.

Start your own thread; this is wrong place to ask anything but a specific mb3 question.

PM me a link and I'll help you biggrin.gif

I have to disagree. The title is MB3 is coming. It seems to me that this would be exactly the place to discuss any upcoming features for MB3, such as live or recorded TV.

i'd say its in the right thread, for this forum. mb3 community is probably the "correct" forum, in it's entirety but they already know about this so... I like seeing stuff posted to this forum, as it reminds me to go look at mb3 forum.

How about a little tutorial for the rest of us that would like to try our hand at a plug in? Keep thinking I want to try but don't know where to start, I do some VB in Excel but that's about it wink.gif

I think you guys missed the set up question and general HTPC set up thread so it looks like I was replying to something else because I didn't quote it smile.gif

Water under the bridge though ..

I agree. My reply was to post of general HTPC questions and beginner set up questions that now appear gone. Anything about mb3 features or discussion of mb3 is certainly on topic. Sorry for confusion

Mfusick's comments were aimed at me. I took his suggestion, tongue in cheek, and created a new thread, which can be found in the link below. Still zero help or input to 3 very simple questions, which could make or break the MB Theater experience! I guess my request was unworthy of anyone's help or doesn't befit the MB3's community criteria. How sad. I will however update my progress and try to share my successes with OTHERS, as a forum member should.

I was tongue in cheek. I was actually suggesting if you post directly your own thread you might bet a better answers. Sorry I did not see the thread until now. I have been offline this weekend in an NFL coma biggrin.gif
The MB3 forums are much better for specific MB3 support but basic questions can likely get answered here on AVS.

I don't think anyone is ignoring you. rather they either don't know the answers or don't understand your questions, or have not seen them.

Mfusick,

Thanks for the help. I am a little confused on the Shark audio codecs, are they used by the MB Theater built in player, or lavaudio, or do both work together?? Trying to keep program installs to a minimum on this setup but I must have bitstream audio?? Is Shark included in the MB Theater download or done separately? I have seen a few references concerning lav audio and shark audio by Luke as far as folder locations.

This area is something that should be part of a MB Theater install guide.

Thanks,

Glenn

See my other post. I wasn't suggesting Shark007 codecs, I was suggesting you could reference assassins guide on them for some set up help and explanation of settings with screen shots.

Shark007 uses LAV so the process is mostly the same. If you already have LAV you don't need to install shark007 for MBT. I'm just trying point you towards some info you can use to get your settings right.

Thanks Mfusick for your help. Getting closer as I am testing in my main theater will let you know my progress.

Every client will be implementing live tv, although they will all roll it out on their own time frame. But a few of them are already working on it.

Never heard much discussion on it, and I'm not sure if it still works. There was something that used to "kind of" work I believe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nextcom_R5000-HD. Definitely never supported the way cablecard has been though

Is there anyway to select a movie in MB3 and change it to "played" without actually watching the movie? I recently migrated all 200+ moves to my server hard drives and I'd like to have it display movies I truly haven't watched yet. Playing all of these movies for a few seconds is going to take me a long time.

Are you talking about the mb server we interface? Like in the metadata manager? I don't see anything that says played.
