Hi folks,
I about to install a new HTPC and before I do, I want to get all my dvds ripped so they will be in my XBMC interface. I am running into issues however. I have done some research online about the best settings to use for rips.

I am using MKV as the container. I have tried both setting a set bitrate and setting a quality such as 19. I have tried using the feature to do two passes. Framerate is set to same as source.

No matter what I try with these settings, I have the problem where action scenes or anytime something is moving beyond very slow, the movement is very jarring. On the original dvd these scenes are smooth, but on the rip they are not. It is very noticeable.

What am i doing wrong?

thanks.
