What can I do to increase SVP performance?
Current equipment, CPU: Intel i5 3570K (not overclocked)
Graphics: nVidia GTX680 2GB
RAM: 16GB DDR3-2400
Using MPC-HC + MadVR + SVP, I can already run SVP at 5g settings or better. I always use '23. Complicated' mode (it still looks buttery smooth but cuts out most artifacts IMHO), 12px motion vector grid with all other settings on max (except for 1px vector precision) for 1920x800 content, same but with 14px vector grid for 1920x1080.
I love 60fps smoothness in everything I watch and I want more, what is the best value for money upgrade I can make? Ideally I'd like to be able to run '23. Complicated', 8px vector grid with 1px vector precision (going to half-pixel doesn't make any visual difference to me) and all other settings max at 1920x1080. I have a few options:
1.) Replacing my CPU with an i7 3770K (which is almost identical except it has hyperthreading), this is the fastest CPU my mobo supports (ASUS P8Z77-something), I'm not willing to upgrade mobo just yet. Around £150-170 (used).
2.) Buy a more powerful CPU cooler and OC my current CPU some (stock speed is 3.4GHz, it should hit 4-4.2GHz without too much hassle). Around £80-100 to get to 4GHz? Not very sure about that.
3.) Buy a second GTX680 to run in SLI. Around £100-120 (used). Thinking of doing this anyway for gaming purposes. Used 680s are a particular sweetspot for performance/price ratio recently.
Unfortunately I can't really fit more than one of these in my budget right now, already spent my yearly budget on subwoofers. Suggestions?
