As the title says I've developed this crazy loud static chirp while watching .iso files with DTS-HD. It doesn't seem to be there with TrueHD. I'm using WAPSI HDMI in under settings with no other options since DirectSound gives me choppy audio and slows video to a crawl.

Running the latest version of XBMC with a Denon 3311, an AMD system with a new Gigabyte GTX650 2GB card.

Not sure why I didn't mention I'm using XBMC and Windows 8 with whatever the most recent nvidia driver is from windows update. Streaming off a Windows Server 2012 Essentials.

Try using the official Nvidia driver : http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/57095 . I use a GT610 combined with with an Denon 2310 and have no issues (Win 7 32bit). Yes, Direct Sound is screwed up in XBMC 12, a lot of people have that choppy playback issue with DS.
