So I'm travelling a lot for work and the hotel channel lineups are hit or miss. Worse yet, despite their HD LCDs, the vast majority of them have analog feeds! WTF? Any easy way to extend my HTPC across the internet and watch it in my hotel room a la Slingbox? I could probably couldn't handle the lag, but wondering if it's even possible.

although remote potato works, for me, I wouldn't say the quality is any better than analog cable, but my internet uplink speed isn't the greatest either so YMMV.

I always pack an HDMI cable anymore and plug my laptop into the hotel TV.
Then I watch netflix or stuff I have on an external HDD. With VPN I can even watch netflix, hulu etc from abroad.

Well, mainly I don't want to plug another device into my setup. Just hoping there was an efficient software solution. Maybe I'm mistaken, but Remote Potato doesn't seem to work with live TV...am I off the mark about that? I've looked at Orb as well, but it seems it's not really tied into MC, and can't really make use of the the cablecard tuners.
