Trying to play a downloaded 1080 movie on my HTPC, plays fine through 21.5" montitor but stutters on my 47 vizio tv. plays for a few minutes fine at 24 FPS then bounces down lower and lower until is goes slow mo at around .4 FPS. my PC is a LGA 1155 2500k 3.3 Ghz quad core. 16 Gb ram, Nvidia GTX 560 1Gb video card. the card only has DVI hook up so using a DVI to VGA adapter which goes to the VGA connection on the tv. Is the DVI to VGA bottlenecking my signal?

playing movies on divx player software.

Are you using the monitor and TV at the same time? If so, make the TV the primary display. Also ditch the divx player, get mpc hc instead.
