Yes, it does. I had some studdering that went away when I turned on AnyDVD HD - but it also could have been caused by me forgetting to turn off the auto frequency changer (which I do not need). But I can confirm it played The Bourne Identity in HD-DVD.

TMT does not bitstream HD-DVD audio formats, but it does bitstream BluRay audio formats. Sadly, it does not play VHS tapes or LaserDiscs at all. frown.gif

It recognizes and understands the .EVO files that make up the movie.

and it bitstreams HD Audio (with LAV)

Making an investment in Arcsoft's TMT a complete waste of money and time.

Does MPC-HC play the BluRay and HD-DVD menus?

No it doesn't. There are no open source DirectShow navigation filters for HD-DVD and there is only one for Blurays (dslibbluray) but the latest codebase has some regressions in it where the navigation doesn't work. I haven't had time to go through the commits to find out exactly where the bug was introduced in order to (properly) report it.

dslibbluray is showing some real promise though and it wouldn't be hard to add support for it in MPC-HC. It might even be able to be added just as an external filter. I'll add that to my never ending todo list. biggrin.gif

What are you taking about? I just watched "Ray" last week with MPC-HC.

OP, don't listen to this guy. Do the steps in the first post for MPC-HC Advanced setup found in this forum and watch any bluray AND HD-DVD you want. The only thing you have to do is find the two biggest evo files (for hd-dvd) and figure out which one goes first by watching it to see if it starts out in the middle of the movie or the beginning of the movie.

To queue the second one up, hold your left mouse button down while selecting both of the biggest evo files. You might have to go bottom to top to get them selected in the right order.

I really can't believe someone would tell you that they don't play with mpc.

As for that posting, it should be noted that there is a 50+ page thread in this forum about people getting around Cinevia or SVP with blu-ray or the many other things that mpc-hc is capable of. Don't post ignorant S+!@.

The question was if MPC-HC plays the menus. A plethora of players will play the individual files but the menu structure is the difficult part.

You gotta love it when the guy saying "Don't post ignorant S+!@." is the one who doesn't bother reading the question. : p

The trial version of TMT6 won't play HD DVDs for me. I tried 3 HD DVDs with and without AnyDVD HD. It acts like it is loading then crashes and close the program. It played a Blu-ray fine.

Then it is good you tried the trial - it works for me, but does not for you. There are just so many variables involved that I am glad they make a trial available for free testing. What HD DVDs did you try, if I have them I will test them out to see if they work for me. Mind you, I do not have many.

I tried Serenity and Appleseed Ex Machina. It sucks because I bought TMT3 and have it on disc but I can't find it. I can't find anywhere to download 3 or 5 either. Anyone know the last version of PowerDVD to play HD DVDs?

7.3 was the last version of PowerDVD to play HD-DVDs. 8 could be made to play them with some hacking.
