I have a HTPC that I am trying to run through my Pioneer Elite VSX-42 receiver, and then to my TV. (Via HDMI). 9 times out of 10, I cannot get any video. I do occasionally get sound though. When I connect the HTPC straight to the plasma, everything works perfectly. I have tried multiple cables, inputs, and even another computer with the same results. At this point I am about to go crazy, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the ability to dual screen? If so I have found this the best option with my setup.
First if you try to passthrough to the tv often you cannot pickup the correct resolutions/frame rates that the tv/projector has.
For example I have a Pioneer 1021 and a Panasonic projector. The pioneer only provided 1080 60i as output for video.
This was not acceptable in my book so I did dual screen, pushing HDMI audio to the receiver, and then dvi out for video.
This allowed me to bit-stream audio, and also allowed me to be able to output bd at 24p and television at 1080 60p.
