When I open a folder, or do similar functions on the computer. I hear a static sound from the speakers.

I use HDMI out from Nvidia 650 to my Yamaha receiver.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Are you hearing a click, or static? Windows does make a clicking noise when navigating folders

Combination of silent stream bug and Windows navigation sounds. Can't do anything about the former except stop using Nvidia HDMI for audio, but you can eliminate the cause in this particular case by going to Sound/Sounds/Windows Explorer and setting "Start Navigation" to None.
