Hi guys, recently bought this computer (for 100 quid) thinking I could just swap out the board and have it all singing and dancing with a sandybridge chip, loads of memory, and 3x3tb WD reds.

Couldn't find a board that looked liked it would fit (mainly due to there being a rectangle cut out on the board near the fans, meaning any board I put in there I would have to replace the cooling.

Computer runs fine (more or less), the remote doesn't work, however (or should I say the receiver doesn't work), neither does the TV tuner, but for 100 quid, what did I expect.

So, after some soul searching I decided to just upgrade this as much as I could, so I ordered the following:

2 x 512mb Dimms
2 x WD 3tb sata-III Caviar Red HDDs
1 x SSD 128gb sata-III

Would you guys think that's ok? I've read a few threads here saying you cant put sata-III in this machine. And another guy saying he put 3gb ram in (when sony says its only upgradeable to 2gb).

Any help would be appreciated, ideally I would prefer a new mobo solution, bearing in mind its a low profile case.
