Hello,
I have a dedicated home theater now and eventually plan to have a HTPC of some sort.

For now, what I'd like to have is some ripped trailers to play randomly before my movie, granted i would have to switch inputs, but I'm just curious the best way to go about it.

Blu Rays are very sparse of trailers these days, so I would be using both DVD and blu-ray content.

Any ideas?

TIA!

You can find lots of HD trailers here but most of them are in 2ch.

thanks, but what program would play and randomize them?

thanks!

Also would like to have the MPAA prologue to it...i guess i could edit that in? or have it play in front of each random trailer?

Something like this?
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:Cinema_Experience

I'm surprised no one here talks about it, but then again it seems most here are happy to just have a PC connected to their TV.

Cinema Experience is about as plug and play as you get, you just install the plugin and configure it with a skin that supports it, and it automatically pulls down trailers. Of course you can configure it to do neat stuff like play DD/DTS clips before movies with the respective audio tracks, THX intros, I've got mine setup to play the TI DLP Cinema intro (since I've got a DLP Home Cinema biggrin.gif).

If you don't like the "over the top" flashy ones, ACE MQ is a nice clean skin with Cinema Experience built in (well you have to install the plugin, but that's just a matter of selecting it from the UI).

you can configure it under the program addons. Once you do that you should see a "Cinema" option listed on the info screen of a media file. You may have to search to figure out how enable it in the skin you chose.

I point it to a directory that has a .vob, it doesn't show up, I also have a ripped bluray, doesn't show up either.

TIA

I'm not sure I follow, here's info on Cinema Experience:

If it's more XMBC in general, you might want to check out the XMBC thread here or the XBMC wiki.
