I took the 120mm Coolmaster fan out of my computer case and plugged it directly into the CX430.

I thought I already posted that in here, maybe some posts got lost in the forum transition?

And I connected the CX430's fan to 5v so it coulden't ramp up. But to try to compensate, I replaced the cpu fan with a Coolermaster monster, and replaced it's 120mm fan with a Noctura.

Limiting the CX430 to 5v makes it EXTREMELY quiet, even when encoding. Now I'm mostly hearing the case fan and the HDD's (which is ok since this is a server and in an adjoining room).
