Hi all,

I have a professional Tacam DAT player, and want to transfer Grateful Dead dubs (no SCMS) into the Windows 7 PC and record them. Under XP there is no problem. I can feed the coax spdif output from the DAT into the SPDIF input on my Creative Audigy platinum panel. I fire up Total Recorder, and can easily record. So I know that all hardware works and is compatible.

However, under Windows 7 this does no work. I can play the DAT through the PC, but it will not record. Everything comes out garbled. My understanding is that Windows 7 is designed to block the spdif inputs. I tried a number of programs to "reroute" the audio signal, but nothing worked.

Is there some kind of workaround or is this a lost cause under Windows 7 ?
