Mind boggling.

I own a PowerColor R9 270X (Devil) and it has a Pitcairn chip.

Right, which is also known as (or now known as) Curacao.

LOL I don't doubt you...at all. What I'm saying is, despite the name change, Curacao is Pitcairn. There may be some clock differences on the newer cards or something but that's no different than clock differences on the same model number card that exist from manufacturer to manufacturer or from model to model even (like Black Edition, OC edition, etc.).

Are you using the latest version of GPU-Z? The latest version should indicate an R9 270/270X as Curacao but they may have decided not to bother.

In short Curacao is] Pitcairn.

The latest version of GPU-Z even mentions an item that shows them that way:
"•Added CHiL8214 voltage monitoring for Pitcairn/Curacao cards"

So does anyone know where one can find a good low profile amd card right now, i cant find any outside the R7 250 (wouldnt want to go lower then that), but newegg reviews of this one http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150682 claim it sounds like a jet engine taking off.

Cant find this one anywhere.

Nope. Only 10/20/30/40 cards get low-profile builds. The most powerful low-profile Nvidia card currently available is a 2GB GDDR-equipped 740 GT.
