MB theater also supports madvr, it's just not as mature as MPC-HC.

This is what I have heard, and it has me rather pleased to know that. Unfortunately, my issue is in that I have no idea whatsoever how to make it do its thing. It's not that the program is failing to respond, the failure lies entirely in my utter lack of technical expertise.

The plugins for fetching music and live video backdrops and themes are absolutely worth it!!!!

They truly do turn the front end into some impressive eye (and ear) candy. They are part of what sold me on MB3 in the first place. I had tried using MB years ago with little success. The new version, especially with the ultra-affordable backdrop and theme plugins is hands-down the best option I have come across.

live backdrops sound great. but what do you do when a film doesn't have one ready to download? go back into your movie collection and re-rip menu screens? clip out part of a trailer? just go without and ruin the fluid asthetic? what online depository are live backdrops pulled from? how far back does the selection go?

Missing backdrops just default to theme music plus jpeg backdrops like traditionally used with xbmc, plex, or old mediabrowser. They look great. You don't need a live video backdrop or tv theme for every media item, in some ways it makes the ones that have them cooler and more impressive.

The backdrops are sometimes available on youtube. Also ten mediabrowser forums have some sources. But again the plugin is the easy way on mb3.

Hey. Sorry to post here but apparently I can't PM on a new account ;( . (Also apparently I can't even quote YOUR image links .. referring to your post on page 1 of this thread).

Which Plex theatre theme are you using where it displays 3 rows of movies?
I've looked at options and themes and nothing quite looks like what you have in the screenshot. Sadly the default Plex skin only shows 2 rows. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Check out Artic - Zephyr and Eminence 2 for Kodi. They're absolutely beautiful and highly customizable skins.

Has the speed of loading posters for large movie libraries been improved? If so I'm all over it. The PVR in Emby is fantastic, I'd love to be able to use both.

Looky here!

decided to give htpc another go after many, many years and was stoke to stumble across emby, love the clean layout and control panel, unfortunately after installing it i discovered that it only supported networked tuners (homerun) and not my hauppauge 950q, at least not at the moment.... speaking of which, what is up with tv tuner software? geez, apparently it's the most difficult software to write known to man, at least that's my impression after trying one software viewer after another, nothing but glitches, freezes and plain not working, a far cry from ready for prime time... heck, i read that nextpvr was a snap, the best out there, but i've had a helluva time trying to get it to work, in fact i'm close to giving up on it.... amazingly hauppauge's newest wintv software, which was recently released, finally works without having to do a clean windows install (that was actually what required to get their last update to work!).... anyway i'm liking where my htpc project is headed, really like the snappyness of kodi, hopefull i can get it dialed in!
