Boost audio level with LAV audio?

My movies are .mkv's with untouched lossy audio mainly (DTS or AC3). I am running HDMI into my TV's, no AVR or anything fancy.

I am using WMC with LAV filters.(Sharks pack) Sometimes the audio of a film is very quiet, I can turn the TV up all the way and its not loud enough. I know TV audio sucks but some films are plenty loud.

Is there anything I can do in LAV or anywhere else to help this problem? I have messed with Dynamic Range Compression, it only works on AC3 anyways.

I have tried boosting all the levels on the mixing tab but not sure it did anything.

Go to Control Panel | Sound
Doubleclick your active device
Go to the TAB, Enhancements
Check the box for [x] Loudness Equalization

Use Shark007 Codecs and retain your sanity.

+1 Beat me to it. I just figured this out recently and it made my wife way happier. Lets face it, when you want dynamics, you listen to your surround system, when you are listening through tv speakers you just want to hear everything clearly. Loudness Equalization works great for this

Exactly, lately just been using the tv and its frustrating when you can max it out and its still not good enough. Also totally agree on the wife part Good to have them happy.
