From RAGE3D site,

DellSB - Dimension 4550 Pentium 4 2.53Ghz Computer with 40x10x40 CD-RW, 60GB HD, and now FREE 15" LCD for $649 Shipped!

The system now includes a 15" LCD monitor for $649 shipped! It comes with a 2.53Ghz Pentium 4 processor with the faster 533Mhz system bus, 128mb of 333Mhz DDR SDRAM (this faster memory requires the faster 533Mhz bus processor purchase), 40x10x40 CD-RW drive (a free upgrade, which expires 10/23/02), a 60GB 7200RPM Ultra/ATA100 hard drive, and a 10/100 NIC. There`s a $100 instant discount (expires 10/23/02) on this computer, which along with the other promotions, makes it this price. There aren't even any rebates to worry about. Here`s what you do:

Start here at Dell Small Business Dimension 4550 computers. DELLSB

Choose the following options:

2.53 GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with 533MHz system bus

Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition

Basic Audio (Integrated Sound)

Scroll to the bottom and click on Continue

We`re going to want to choose options that make the price before instant
discount to be $749 or above. Here`s what we suggest:

128MB DDR SDRAM at 333MHz [subtract $50]

1 Year Limited Warranty plus 1 Year On-site Service [subtract $119]

Microsoft® Works Suite 2002 w/Money Standard [subtract $100]

60GB Ultra ATA/100 7200RPM Hard Drive [add $40]

FREE UPGRADE! 15 in (15.0 in viewable) E151FP Flat Panel Display Outstanding Value

No Speaker Option [subtract $30]

Scroll to the bottom and click on Update Price. With those options outlined above, the price should be $799 before $100 discount, and $699 after. If you upgraded more things, it may be higher

Click on Continue

Scroll to the bottom and click on Add to cart

Use coupon code: FE20C4B6481D for $50 off a $749+ Dimension 4550 purchase (expires 10/23/02). The $100 instant discount in your cart should disappear, and be replaced by a $150 discount.
Finish checking out. Shipping is free right now. If you don`t have a business name, you can use your own name in that box during checkout.

KWhite,
Thanks man! I just jumped on this. I am in the market for a small flat panel display to use as a secondary monitor on the HTPC. The prices around town range from $250-$350 for the low end. With tax, this Dell box came to $674.xx. So now I get my flat panel display I wanted plus a kickin' P4 to go with it (it'll become wifey's new machine). Thanks!!

If you go to the DELL WEB site and configure exactly the same computer starting with the medium and large business entry you end up paying $1248 + tax + shipping vs. $725 all included for he same thing via the small business route.

This is an interesting deal indeed!

Apparently, that coupon is no longer valid. I got a pop-up from Dell to that effect when I tried to order. YMMV.

The coupon is valid. There's an instant $100 discount, which disappears (thus, the pop-up box) and is replaced by a $150 discount.

I just ordered another machine tonight from Dell.

P4 2.0/128ram/40gig HD/nVidia MX 64mb/15"LCD monitor...$560.00

Go here: http://www.techbargains.com/

They have the details. This is for "tell a friend" promotion. After you enter the coupon code you will get a pop up with an error - ignore it - and keep going.

A friend and I at work ordered two and got the discount. It even let us use two separate credit cards.

You could probably use this code on other machines (P4 2.53) but I couldn't pass up a P4 2.0 with LCD monitor for 5 hunded and change.

If you buy 2, they can be had for as little as $489 plus tax, with free shipping. This is including the 15" LCD, 2.0ghz P4, 40x10x40 CD-RW, etc.

I picked up one of these a week ago. It looks like it would be a good machine for HTPC use — It’s pretty quiet, except for the hard disk. (I got the 40 GB disk, which turns out to have been a Maxtor.) Hibernate and suspend to RAM are working fine with it.

Compared with my home built Athlon/Enermax machine, it’s also somewhat lower on electronic noise (based on video input with the same card).

Go to this thread here to maybe get a 5% off code:

http://www.**************/forums/mess...#messid1264533

Using one of these and getting $150 off each of 2 comps, I got two 2.0 Ghz comps for $1001 total with fn california tax. Two decent machines for 500 bucks each--tough to beat....

This forum rocks--so far I have gotten the heads up on 2 great deals--this one and WinXP pro from microsoft for 39.99. Add to that all the great info I receive and I am in big debt to this forum.

Thanks all...

Jaime

The deal on the 15" LCD monitor is apparently no longer available. I had a saved config from yesterday and when I tried to access it today it was no longer valid. Oh well. The coupon still works for an extra $50 off though.

Yeah, I had a buddy try it a few hours ago. He called Dell to ask about it and they said that the monitors were out of stock. Funny though that the same monitor is now listed as an upgrade option for $170. I suspect that Dell realized that they really didn't intend to knock $150 off the price *and* give you a free upgrade to the flat panel.

Yeah, they pulled it around noon today, unfortunately. About 2 days before they planned to. Guess sales were too good.

Is it a legal version of XP Pro and did you get the Microsoft Bobble Head Doll and baseball--not to mention the packet of Big League Chew Bubble gum :)

Yes, it's legal. They're just talking about this old deal:

http://members.microsoft.com/partner...n/Winpro2.aspx

Great pricing, even for NFR software. $39.99 plus $8.95.
