using Display Port to HDMI 2.0 Adapter

I have been holding out from upgrading my ancient system but now it appears Intel will not support HDMI 2.0 at least not on any minimalist systems for the foreseeable future.

In researching 4k HTPC, I noticed many people are successfully using Displayport to HDMI adapters for 4k @ 60Hz.

Is there any reason to wait or is a dual core Haswell a perfectly good choice for a 4k 60Hz HTPC using CPU graphics (no gaming)?

I tend to build low power, low cost systems so no addin videocards or thunderbolt systems.

Depends what your use case is. I dont believe any adapter supports HDCP 2.2.

I think best to wait for Skylake perhaps using thunderbolt for HDMI.

Here is a relevant article-
