No sound on Mk4 or MP4 files

Hi,

Someone has given me some mkv and mp4 files but l cannot get any sound to play on the movies.
I have ffdshow codec and K-lite Code player but still not luck.

Any help would really be appreciated as to how get sound working , video is fine.

Download and install mediainfo (make sure you select the shell extension), then right-click the file and have a look at the 'MediaInfo' properties. It will tell you exactly what's in the container.

Audio stream: AC-3/AAC
video stream: AVC

Is that any help?

It's pretty much a bog standard audio stream. Nothing special at all. Do you get audio when playing it back in MPC-HC?
