Does anyone know if any DVD player software (for HTPC) can automatically produce a fixed-height image regardless of the source media aspect ratio?

For example when using a 4:3 projector (Dell 3200MP), I want the image to be always the same height without adjusting the zoom/etc. So basically if I build a screen with a 2.35:1 aspect, playing a 1.85:1 movie should have black bars on the sides, and 4:3 image will have even wider black bars, but the image will always retain the same height. All aspect ratios then will have the same amount of black bars at the top and bottom.

Yes I realize I'm wasting a lot of pixels by doing that since I'm masking off good portions at the top and bottom... ;)
