Hi, I would like to known whether a laptop can be use as a HTPC. I have a Compaq Persario 1700T PIII 700, 128MB ram, Rage mobility video card 8mb memory and 15 gig. hardrive. It doesn't have Digital audio out but can be added through the Docking station for this model. Is this sufficient to be a htpc to a lp340 projector using VGA out, or just use my regular DVD player using S-video and don't bother with it??

Hi Chan:

___Many of us have discussed this exact topic in the last 3 days. Please look back over the last 5 days of posts and you will run into more than you probably care to read on using a laptop as an HTPC. Even if you do not find what you are looking for, I am sure you will find many other topics of interest in regards to the HTPC and all its capabilities.
