I need an mpeg-2 elementary stream to transport stream muxer.

I am a DVB satellite HiDef enthusiast. My problem is I can't backup my recordings to my JVC30k. DVB transmits mpg's as an elementary stream MPG. I need to multiplex the MPG-2 stream into a TS (transport stream). I have tried every conceivable filtergraph combination of mpeg-2 muxers to do this. But I can't find a directshow filter that will mux the streams and assign PIDs etc.

DVHStool filters won't do this. Any mpeg experts out there know of a way to accomplish this? I found a standalone program, mpeg2vcr, that does exactly this, but I need a directshow filter to direclty record the stream to DVHStool.

Thanks!
Spearse

Yep, already tried that, but it doesn't like DVB source mpg's. It takes PS files, whereas DVB sources appear to be "elementary sources", as identified by Manzanita's MPEGID program.

I have spent 12 hours searching google-- to no avail. I am assuming (hoping) that this is so esoteric, developers might know of this but it won't be out for mass consumption.

I think this will be important as there is a growing community of FTA DVB satellite HiDef enthusiasts. Thus I'm looking for an easy way to archive.

Spearse, I am getting into DVB and trying to soak it all in, did you try to email ammtools and see if they could include it in future products, just to let them know that a demand is out there?

I don't know if this will be of help, but according to the VLC user's guide, it can act as a transcoder between different stream types

link: http://www.tldp.org/REF/VLC-User-Guide/x1110.html

According to tihs page, it's compatible with TS, PS, ES and AVI streams

link:http://www.videolan.org/streaming/features.html

I would download the transcode and ES modules and see what happens.....
