Hi!

I was wondering (and I have tried searching this forum)if it is possible to use an external, stand-alone DVD-player in conjunction with dScaler. If so, which card should I use?
I have a PIII 600 with 256MB ram...

In terms of video quality, how will this differ from say PowerDVD or WinDVD?

Best regards,
David

Regards,
David

See the FAQ for this http://www.dscaler.org/FAQ.htm

We're kinda answering this.

However, if you can read French, see this recent topic from Laurent Garnier, one of DScaler developpers http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/h...ML/001434.html

With the projector is using, he's very close to prefer the solution external dvd player + DScaler compared to dvd-rom+player solutions.

Of course, ease of use has to be taken into account ... not just PQ.

See the htpc meta FAQ , or the Dscaler FAQ , and my looong htpc in the making thread
