I recently bought a Radeon 64mb VIVO and installed it. Without trying the ATI player I went ahead and installed Power and Win on the system. Both Win and Power run fine but the ATi player starts but refuses to play anything. It will sometimes play the copyright intro but then just stops. It doesn't crash, just refuses to play any further. Any help on this would be great guys.

Hi Golden:

___First, install DVD Genie. Second, unregister the Direct Show filters for Win DVD in the WinDVD section of DVD Genie. DirectX 8.0a would be a highly recommended install as well. Now you can run all three (ATI 4.1/PowerDVD 3.0.905/WinDVD 2.8) players side by side.

___Good Luck

Hi Wayne!

Hey, I tried unregistering the filters, but I have the same problem as Golden. Worse yet, now WinDVD won't run properly either, but that comes as no big shock to me...hehe. Please check my other thread "ATI DVD player nightmare" for the details.

Hi,

now you might have the problem, that the Ati Directshow Filter conflicts with windvd. You can disable ati's dx-Filter by executing "regsvr32 /u qidvdf.ax". Be sure to re-register them, if you want to use the ATI player again by calling "regsvr32 qidvdf.ax"
