Hi,

I have 2 CD Rom Drives that are far too sensitive in terms of the loading trey. On one of them I have to catch the trey while it's opening or it will just open and close again (like it detected a bump or form or resistance.) The other frequently closes while I'm loading a disc causing me to try to get the disc in the right part of the trey before the drive fully closes.

Does anyone know how this tray motors detect jars and bumps? Maybe there is some thing I can adjust to give it back the right sensitivity.

Thanks and Good Luck,

-Brian

There is a microswitch in the front of the unit that senses the position of the tray. It has to be adjusted. Either by moving it or slightly bending the leafs. Just be very careful it isn't bent too far.
I had the same problem where you barely touch the tray or try to remove the CD and th tray would close on you.
The hardest thing is getting the thing apart. You might have to remove the front bezel with the tray opened first before you separate the case of the CD.

Free, abundant OTA television separates this country from many others. ATSC1 has only been in force since 2009. The wireless industry has enough spectrum. Enough of 'planned obsolesce'.

Thanks,

I'll look for it. I kind of thought that was the case.
