End of Year, Easter, Christmas next year?
After I read one message that said nothing is going to be changed I thought about how that could be and came up with several reasons how that could be.
First, Schedules Direct servers are supplying ALL the data now to us now.
Second, Grace Note (TMS) servers have been put to other uses, turned off, in any case consider them to be gone.
Third the Grace Note (TMS) DNS entries were changed to point to the SD servers.
It is when the Grace Note (TMS) DNS entries are deleted when all the people using old applications will lose their program listings. I assume that Grace Note (TMS) DNS entries are paid by the year. As no refund is available for partial years, just not renewing will make them go away.
Thus "End of Year" is possible when the DNS entries may go away.
If they remain it’s possible that they paid for several years in advance.
"Easter" is possible if someone forgot to have the DNS entries removed, or no one had the responsibility and some one asked "should they be deleted".
It may be like when I caused two streams to be taken off a transmitter just by asking TMS to add program listings for the streams. Some one at the station discovered they still were on but not making any money for the station.
"Christmas next year" Well, the DNS entries are not costing Grace Note (TMS) any more money and as Schedules Direct has a contract and are keeping up with the payments, removing the DNS entries may reduce the SD membership. Some people may just not renew causing $25 to go to $30 and then to $35 with the next step being "End of Schedules Direct’.
So it may be in Grace Note (TMS)’s interest to keep the DNS entries alive.
Only time will tell.
As far as CW_EPG, the new version has several additions that I like.
