If you are using the digital out, then yes, you can listen to movies with the 6 channels in full glory. Great sound. This is using external decoding (receiver or preamp).

I don't believe that ex/es decoding is fully available through software yet.

I have a DC Pro card, PowerDVD 3.0, and a Lexicon DC-2. When I play a DTS movie, my Lex displays DTS. I have not noticed a change in the display when I play a Surround EX movie, but that is probably because I have not been looking. I do know that I have selected Surround EX as the track on several movies, and they have played back perfectly (because I have yet to encounter a movie that does not play back perfectly wrt audio and video on my setup).

I summary, I highly recommend the combination of the DC Pro 24/96 and PDVD 3.0.

Cheers,

Bernd

Will an HTPC with an Audiophile 2496 allow me to hear Dolby EX or DTS-ES DVD recordings?
